Key Responsibilities & Tasks


Coordinator

To represent the Project Support Office and serve as the chair of associated committees.

To oversee the operations of the Project Support Office, ensuring that committees and administrative staff function efficiently.

To develop the agenda for the Project Support Office committees, convene meetings, compile the annual activity report for the Project Support Office, and prepare the annual work plan for the upcoming year, which will then be submitted for the Rector’s approval.

Assistant Coordinator

To execute the tasks assigned in accordance with the division of labor established by the Coordinator.

To serve as the deputy coordinator when the Coordinator is unavailable.

Board of Management

To provide support for project management, research, development, and educational initiatives of the Project Support Office.

To organize efforts related to projects intended for submission to national and international programs, including the promotion, training, technical, and scientific support of these programs.

To collaborate with relevant individuals, institutions, and organizations in interdisciplinary project activities.

To assess the existing systems of the university and, when necessary, propose the establishment of working groups and the conduction of informational meetings or take on related responsibilities.

To plan the annual activities of the Project Support Office and prepare work plans.

To evaluate the annual activity report prepared by the Coordinator and submit the evaluation results to the Rectorate in report form.

Scientific Committee

To encourage scientists within their respective units to prepare and present projects in alignment with the recommendations of the Board of Management.

To serve as a consultant in collaborations with national and international organizations such as TÜBİTAK and the EU, particularly during conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings, with the purpose of project development and coordination.

To provide consultancy, information, and mentorship services to project owners regarding originality, widespread impact, and feasibility in national and international projects submitted to the Coordinator by BTU personnel.

To assist in training initiatives related to project preparation, presentation, and management.

To facilitate the transfer of project experience to other researchers by sharing insights received from units with the project office.

Project Support Office Team Members

To facilitate the cultivation of a project-oriented culture within the university, with a mandate to encourage faculty members to engage in the preparation of projects aimed at augmenting the quantity of research and development initiatives in accordance with established strategic priorities and plans.

To systematically monitor national and international project calls and disseminate pertinent information to academic personnel and administrative units through a variety of communication mechanisms, including the university’s official website, social media platforms, meetings, seminars, and other appropriate channels.

To collaborate with national and international entities, such as TÜBİTAK and the European Union, in the development and coordination of projects, including the planning and organization of joint endeavors, as well as the facilitation of conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings. Furthermore, to provide advisory, informational, and mentorship services to project proponents regarding aspects of originality, broad impact, and feasibility of proposed national and international projects.

To actively participate in the organization of training initiatives focused on project preparation, submission, and management.

To maintain a comprehensive registry of projects formulated by faculty members or research centers seeking support from national or international institutions, providing technical support as necessary and ensuring timely submission for the Rectorate’s endorsement.

To lead efforts aimed at promoting interdisciplinary collaboration by advocating for the planning and execution of such research initiatives across relevant units.

To ensure the establishment of a robust database for the monitoring of projects and the evaluation of research performance, with a commitment to disseminate this information via the university’s official website.

To contribute to the preparation of the annual activity report detailing the project activities executed by university units.

To oversee and manage correspondence related to the operational activities of the Project Office.

To execute the duties and responsibilities assigned by the Coordinator and the Assistant Coordinator within the operational framework of the Project Office.
